Patrick Fay

(Eastern District and Diocese of Dunkeld) Born in Dundee, 10/13th April 1848, the son of John Fay and Anne Beattie; dismissed, 8th December 1869, but went to English College, Bruges, and ordained a priest by Bishop Strain in St. Mary’s, Lochee, Dundee, 8th September 1872; left Kirkcaldy, 1884; died in Vancouver, 10th February 1909.

Report of the ordination of Patrick Fay in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1873.

The Rev. Patrick Fay was born at Dundee on the 13th April 1848 ; entered Blairs College. 29th July 1862; and was sent to the Scots College, Valladolid, in September 1866. He left that College in ill-health, 8th December 1869, and entered the English College, Bruges, 29th April 1870. He there received the Tonsure and Minor Orders, 3rd June 1871; and was ordained sub-deacon, 23rd December 1871, and deacon, 25th May 1872, by Mgr. Faiet, Bishop of Bruges. He was ordained priest, 8th September 1872, by the Right Rev. Dr Strain, in St Mary’s, Lochee, where he is now stationed.
